The organisers of the 9th Congress of the EACPT are delighted that Edinburgh has been chosen to host the 2009 event from Sunday 12th to Wednesday 15th July 2009.

The Congress will be held in the award-winning Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC).

Edinburgh is Scotland's capital city and is the perfect location for EACPT 2009. It is large enough to be able to provide all the facilities international delegates would expect but small enough and friendly enough to explore thoroughly on foot. It has a magnificent city centre with its ancient castle dominating Princes Street, the main shopping thoroughfare, set amongst medieval lanes and stylish sweeping terraces. Edinburgh is steeped in history and boasts World Heritage Site status. There is a variety of places of historical interest to visit. There is a wealth of accommodation, ranging from 5 star luxury and exclusive boutique hotels to smaller traditional accommodation full of Scottish character.

An exciting and memorable social programme and accompanying guests' programme will be arranged throughout the Congress.

Scotland is also 'The Home of Golf', including the famous championship links of Muirfield, Turnberry and St Andrews. There are more than 20 golf courses within the city of Edinburgh. So why not plan a holiday to Scotland before or after the Congress?

The EACPT 2009 Organising Committee are delighted to announce that the meeting has been awarded 24 CPD (Continuing Professional Development) credits by the Federation of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the UK.  This is an excellent opportunity to help build towards your CPD quota for 2009.
